Description

This is technical administrative position in the grants administration unit of the Administrative Office of the Courts for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit.  An employee in this class is responsible for researching and identifying funding opportunities that match program and operational needs. Emphasis of the work is on researching and resolving problems, reviewing documents for compliance with terms of contracts and professional service agreements, and maintaining grant management tracking tools.  The incumbent exercises some independent judgment.  Supervision is received from an administrative supervisor who reviews work for effectiveness of data processing activities and conformance to departmental policies and procedures. 

Responsibilities

Research, identify, and evaluate funding opportunities that match program and operational needs. Interpret grant regulations and guidelines to determine eligibility and appropriate match. 

Conduct research and compile statistical data required for grant proposals.

Write and submit grant applications to secure funds necessary to meet program goals. Develop and submit grant compliance reports.

Work collaboratively with program staff to maintain ongoing knowledge of the activities and programs throughout the organization.

Maintain grant management tracking tools, including master calendar, submission logs, etc., to ensure compliance with all application and report schedules.

Process grant applications and declination.  Prepare grant award notifications and distribute to appropriate staff. 

Performs a variety of tasks within the scope of grant management functions.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Public Administration or related degree.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, reporting and compliance requirements of contracts and grants preferred.
  • Excellent computer operation with working knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) applications and data management software.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service skills and flexibility when dealing with a variety of personalities.
  • Strong multi-task and organizational skills and detail oriented.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of grant research techniques and skills and the sources and availability of funding opportunities.
  • Knowledge of writing and editing executive summaries, project abstracts and grant proposal narratives.
  • Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to be organized, multitask various duties, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interpreter agency services and apply then to grant opportunities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and display tact, diplomacy, excellent customer service skills. 
  • Ability to communicate accurately and concisely verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Ability for storytelling using qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Ability to work well within a diverse team and across departments.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to be flexible with schedule as evening and weekends are at times required.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds. Position may require significant amount of lifting, bending, siting down and moving around.
